FPS Health and Safety Policy

The Federation of Piling Specialists holds the attainment of the highest standard of
safety as a key objective. In order to achieve this Members of the Federation have
agreed to:-
- Share information on safety related matters by regular attendance at the Quarterly Meetings of the FPS Safety Forum
- Make quarterly returns of all reportable accidents and dangerous occurrences (including a copy of each F2508 report form) for analysis by the Federation
- Support the need of a competent and qualified management
- Achieve as a minimum the FPS requirements for safety training of the workforce
- Ensure the workforce is provided with a basic induction on arrival at each new site
- Include Health and Safety on each board meeting agenda to ensure that senior management within the company discuss and implement good health and safety practices
- Report to the FPS information relating to safety which should be drawn to the attention of other members, or plant users (ie safety alerts)
- Support the provision of safe working platforms for piling plant
- Improve safety awareness through the use of toolbox talks, safety awareness training, and the use of posters and other safety related aids
Additionally the Federation, with the assistance of Members, will prepare and issue,
where necessary:-
- Analysis and summaries of accident data
- Guidance on legislation, regulations, and other safety related matters
- Training aids such as videos, safety literature and PowerPoint presentations for training purposes
- Safety awareness posters and literature.
