Improved Process for Issuing FPS Safety Alerts and Lessons Learnt

The Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) has introduced a revised format for issuing Safety Alerts and corresponding Lessons Learnt documents, following feedback from the Operations Sub-Group. The change aims to enhance clarity, timeliness, and learning outcomes across the membership.

Under the new approach:

  • Safety Alerts will be issued as soon as possible after an incident, to communicate immediate containment actions and prevent similar events elsewhere.
  • Lessons Learnt documents will follow once a full investigation has been conducted, enabling more detailed reflection and knowledge-sharing.

These two documents are now provided separately, unless the investigation is concluded swiftly and both can be published together. Templates for both formats can be found in the members area of the FPS website, under the Safety Alerts section.

This revised structure is designed to support consistent reporting across all member organisations and promote a more proactive culture of shared safety improvement.

Please ensure you are using the updated templates when submitting alerts.
