FPS Supports 1st BGA Women in Geotechnics Symposium: Inspire an Engineer

The British Geotechnical Association, with the generous support of the Association of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Specialists, is launching its first Women in Geotechnics (WiGeotech) Symposium – Inspire an Engineer, with the Federation of Piling Specialists proud to support this initiative.

Taking place on Monday 2 March 2026, from 14:00, at the Institution of Civil Engineers in London, this half-day afternoon tea event will bring together professionals from across the ground engineering sector to connect, inspire and support one another.

Featuring inspiring talks and a panel discussion, the symposium will:

  • Showcase the expertise, leadership and innovation of women in ground engineering
  • Encourage mentoring and meaningful professional connections
  • Strengthen collaboration between women and male allies
  • Inspire students and early-career professionals to pursue a career in ground engineering

Mid-career and senior attendees are encouraged to bring a student or early-career “plusOne”, reinforcing the event’s strong focus on inspiring the next generation.

The event will conclude with the announcement of the GE Magazine Top 20 Women in Ground Engineering 2026, and is supported by the BDA, EGGS, RoGEP, GE Magazine, TWf, BTS and other ground-related organisations.
