FPS Confirmed as Knowledge Partner for GE Sustainability & Resilience 2026

The Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) is proud to confirm its role as a Knowledge Partner for GE Sustainability & Resilience 2026, taking place on 8 September, at America Square Conference Centre, London.

Bringing together professionals from across the ground engineering sector, the conference will focus on one of the industry’s most pressing challenges, how sustainability and resilience can be delivered in ways that are commercially viable, insurable and buildable in the real world. For the FPS, it is an important opportunity to help shape that conversation and share practical examples of how the piling and deep foundations sector is already helping to move things forward.

The FPS will play an active role in the day’s programme. An FPS panel, “How Sustainability Survives Delivery”, will explore the contractor perspective and examine what sustainable and resilient ground engineering really looks like once projects meet commercial reality. The discussion will consider where sustainability genuinely survives delivery, and where it can still fall away because it is unpriced, uninsurable or unsupported by procurement and risk allocation.

The FPS will also contribute to the technical programme through a dedicated session on carbon, embodied and whole life, in deep foundations. Delivered by the incoming Chair of the FPS, Stuart Norman. The session will examine baselining and benchmarking embodied carbon in deep foundations, and how FPS members are changing the dial, the role of the FPS digital project mapping and pile testing database alongside the new FPS digital pile schedule in supporting the reuse of deep foundations, and a case study from HS2’s Euston welfare facility reviewing the combined structural and thermal energy pile solution, Hiper pile, and its contribution to embodied and whole-life carbon reduction.

As Knowledge Partner, the FPS is proud to support a conference that is tackling one of the most important questions facing the sector, not simply what sustainable ground engineering looks like in principle, but what it takes to make it work in practice.

FPS members can also benefit from a 15% discount on delegate places.
