The Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) is pleased to acknowledge the continued efforts of its members in supporting the industry-wide commitment to carbon reporting.
A growing number of FPS member companies have now submitted their Q1 2025 carbon data, contributing to a more accurate and transparent picture of emissions across the sector. This includes reporting both Scope 1 and 2 Company Emissions (and Scope 3 where applicable), as well as project-specific data for works valued over £750k.
This growing body of data is not only helping to chart our collective emissions footprint but is also supporting the FPS initiative to develop robust carbon benchmarks for different piling techniques. These benchmarks will help identify optimisation opportunities and support efforts to systematically manage out carbon in the longer term.
FPS Members are reminded to complete their submissions by 30th June 2025. If you haven’t yet reported, please ensure the following:
- Use the FPS Carbon Insights Form to input Scope 1 and 2 emissions (including energy and fuel usage) here: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=_CzKr5vNqkibzKZc6x5A0-Vl26-onbhFpyh5OZRyLz1UMkwwUlYyVldYS0k0VEczMVFKNFNEWFVEMCQlQCN0PWcu
- Project emissions should be calculated using the EFFC/DFI Carbon Calculator with FPS plug-in, and the relevant Excel tab submitted via email. Request the plug in from: fps@fps.org.uk.
A comprehensive Training Webinar is available, and one-to-one support via Teams can be arranged upon request. We understand that carbon reporting can present challenges, and the FPS is here to assist all members in meeting their obligations.
Let’s continue working together to lead the way in carbon transparency and sustainability within the foundation industry.
