The Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) is delighted to announce a new ‘Knowledge Partnership’ with Ground Engineering Magazine (GE Events), marking a significant step in strengthening the FPS’s voice across some of the industry’s most influential technical and strategic events.
This collaboration recognises FPS as a trusted expert body within the UK piling and ground engineering sector and places the Federation at the heart of programme development for several key GE conference portfolios. The partnership spans:
- – GE Sustainability – September 2026
- – GE Piling & Foundations – April 2027, with detailed scope to be finalised closer to the event cycle
- – GE Basements & Underground Structures – March 2028, with FPS to be formally integrated from 2027 onwards
As a Knowledge Partner, the FPS will contribute to the early stages of programme development, helping GE shape conference themes, identify emerging policy and technical challenges, and ensure each event reflects the realities facing contractors, clients and consultants across the industry.
The FPS will support:
- – Development of strategic themes
- – Agenda review and content balance
- – Insight into innovations, regulatory shifts and market pressures
- – Identification of areas where deeper discussion formats (e.g. roundtables) add value
This early involvement helps ensures GE events remain relevant, balanced and grounded in the lived experience of the specialist contracting community.
The FPS will also play an active role in shaping the voices contributing to each event by:
- – Recommending appropriate speakers
- – Identifying panel members and discussion angles
- – Offering FPS representatives as speakers or facilitators
- – Contributing to question development and panel framing
- – Supporting the creation of targeted roundtables where useful
This ensures discussions are not only technically robust, but also reflect real-world lessons, risks and opportunities across piling, foundations and ground engineering.
In the first instance, at GE Sustainability 2026, the FPS will be providing strategic insight into policy, innovation and future-facing sustainability themes.
To support and amplify the partnership, GE will provide FPS with strong visibility across each relevant event enhancing its brand presence and as well as being able to offer a discount to FPS members for its events.
This partnership reinforces the FPS’s commitment to shaping a more informed and collaborative industry landscape where sustainability, technical excellence and practical delivery are explored collectively across clients, consultants and contractors.
The FPS looks forward to working closely with GE to support the development of relevant, high-quality conferences that reflect the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the piling and ground engineering sector.
