Piling Apprenticeship – Trailblazer Scheme

The Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) is pleased to announce the new Piling Apprenticeship went live on 24th June 2019.

The apprenticeship is being offered by Stephenson College, with Roger Bullivant Limited providing the hands-on training for the piling elements of the scheme. Other providers are expected to be running a course later in the year.

Initially, Stephenson College is looking to confirm 16 apprentices on the Trailblazer scheme, that will be wholly funded by via the Apprenticeship Levy, rather than the CITB.

As a result, the FPS now can no longer run its SAP (Specialist Apprenticeship Programme) FPS Apprenticeship, which means that the FPS will close out the 2017 intake and then withdraw the scheme entirely. This is a legal requirement, as the FPS cannot run it once the Trailblazer scheme is live.

The next step for the FPS is finalise the End Point Assessment provision, as the FPS wishes to provide assessors to the companies that are set up to assess apprentices at the end of their training.

For more information or to be put in touch with the those running the scheme at Stephenson College, please contact the FPS via email – fps@fps.org.uk
