The Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) has launched the FPS Annual Awards, which will celebrate excellence in ground engineering and the achievements of outstanding individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the sector.

The inaugural awards will be presented at the FPS Annual Dinner, which is being held Friday 21st October 20016, at the prestigious Shakespeare Globe Theatre on London’s Southbank.

There are four categories within the awards open for nominations and a fifth for separate judging; two focussing on companies and three on individuals. The Company awards recognise Safety & Innovation and Technology, whilst the individual awards celebrate Early Career Technician, Early Career Professional and the Chairman’s Award.

Speaking about the awards, Alasdair Henderson, Chair of the FPS said: “There are many awards across the industry that recognise the broader construction and geotechnical sector, but not those companies and individuals who are directly involved in piling and foundations work. The FPS awards celebrate excellence in piling and in particular young technicians and professionals committed to learning and personal development. They also applaud piling companies that have gone that extra mile to demonstrate safety innovation or the application of technology that has improved quality, productivity or any aspect of their business.”
